Shotgun Shoots From Spring through Fall each year, we hold weekly shotgun (Skeet & Trap) shoots. Our shoots are held on our shotgun fields near the main entrance and clubhouse on Thursdays from 5:30pm until done (weather permitting). This shoot is open to the public (non-members will be escorted by club members). We also sponsor the Edmeston Panthers Shooting Team. They shoot (except for a portion of the summer vacation) on our Trap field on Sunday afternoons. Due to the orientation of the fields, be advised that the 50/100 yard range, 300 yard range and fishing pond are CLOSED during Skeet and Trap. No exceptions. Skeet Our shoots are currently not official record-keeping matches, they are fun shoots. Shooters should provide their own shotgun, shells plus hearing and eye protection. We provide the clays. You can shoot what you have, but we recommend using at least a 20 gauge using shells made for sporting clays. We also recommend using a pouch, shotgun vest, or wearing something with pockets large enough to hold the necessary amount of shot shells (25 per round). Although this is just for fun, we do follow standard Skeet rules. We do allow some leeway for less experienced shooters of course. The cost is $5 per round and we hold as many rounds as we can fit in until darkness or weather takes over. Those of you enjoy a real challenge will love skeet shooting. Bring your shotgun and your shells and pit your ability against two throwers from different directions! Its addicting and loads of fun! Trap Our Trap shoots are held concurrently with our Skeet shoots. These are also fun shoots which are not official record-keeping matches. Shooters are responsible for providing their own shotgun, shells plus hearing and eye protection. We provide the clays.
